President's Message

Dear Members, Patrons and Well-Wishers,
I feel immense pride and gratitude to address you on this momentous occasion of the 38th anniversary of the symbol of our togetherness; “East West Cultural Association.” For nearly four decades, our association has been more than an organization, a home to our shared values, cherished traditions, and the vibrant celebrations of our cultural and religious events. This journey would not have been possible without the unwavering support, trust, and contributions of our members and patrons. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of them.
This year, while we were preparing for Durga Puja, one of our most beloved and anticipated festivals, we met with an unexpected challenge. For the last 30 years, it was organised at a single and the most familiar venue; Subhanpura Athithigruh.
However, due to circumstances beyond our control, we couldn’t manage to get the same venue booked from VMC and we had to look for an alternative venue as per our requirements. Obviously, this decision raised questions, concerns, and hesitation among our members, many of whom had deep emotional attachment to the previous venue.
Challenges, however, are opportunities in disguise. They test our resilience, ignite our creativity, and remind us of the strength we possess as a community. Together, we tackled this situation with open minds and collaborative efforts. After much deliberation, with the invaluable support of our Executive Committee and the grace of Maa Durga, we secured a new venue that not only met our needs including parking but also provided a fresh and inspiring space for celebration. The joy, harmony, and satisfaction of our members during this year’s Puja marked the reaffirmation of our collective strength and spirit. Durga Puja is a celebration of triumph, of light over darkness, of good over evil, and of hope over despair. It taught us that the obstacles may come our way, but we can overcome them with unity, perseverance, and faith. Just as Maa Durga fought valiantly to restore balance and harmony, let us draw strength from her divinity to face the challenges in our own lives with courage and determination.
As I look at the history of our association, I feel proud of where we have reached. From the modest beginning to now being a milestone of cultural exchange and community bonding, we have evolved into a great organization. Each festival, each initiative, and each small act of contribution has added to this beautiful tapestry of shared memories and achievements. Let us continue to build on this foundation with renewed passion and commitment to making the East West Cultural Association a beacon of cultural pride, unity, and social welfare.
I am deeply grateful to the members, sponsors, donors, and volunteers for their tireless efforts and unwavering dedication. You are the backbone of this association, and your contributions ensure that we continue to grow stronger every year. May Maa Durga shower her blessings on all of us, giving us the wisdom to make the right choices, the strength to overcome adversities, and the courage to pursue excellence in all that we do. Let this Puja be a celebration not only of our tradition but also of the values and bonds that unite us as one family.
