About Us

Celebrating Culture. Building Community. Since 1986.
The East West Cultural Association (EWCA), established in 1986 in Vadodara, is a vibrant cultural organization committed to celebrating Indian traditions, fostering cultural integration, and strengthening community bonds. With roots in the Bengali community, our association has grown to become one of the most respected and inclusive cultural bodies in Vadodara.
At EWCA, we believe in the unifying power of culture. Our mission is to bridge the cultural heritage of Eastern India—especially Bengal—with the spirit of Gujarat, creating a shared space where traditions, values, and communities come together.
Who We Are
We are a passionate and inclusive association dedicated to promoting cultural heritage, social engagement, and community well-being. Rooted in shared values and a deep respect for diversity, we bring people together through events, initiatives, and collaborations that celebrate our traditions and support meaningful change.
Our association serves as a platform where culture meets communitywhere art, music, language, and customs are preserved, shared, and reimagined for future generations. We also actively engage in social activities that uplift communities, empower individuals, and foster a spirit of unity and belonging.
Whether its organizing cultural festivals, educational workshops, charity drives, or youth programs, we believe in the power of coming together to build a more connected, compassionate, and culturally vibrant society.

Why Durga Puja is Special
Durga Puja is at the heart of EWCAs annual calendar. Spiritually, it commemorates the triumph of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the eternal victory of good over evil. On a deeper level, it celebrates Shaktithe divine feminine energy that is nurturing, protective, and powerful. At EWCA, Durga Puja is more than a festivalits a celebration of identity, community, and hope.
